For Immediate Release:
Who: Busted Trust Working Group, Premier Moe, Speaker Weekes and Minister Harrison
What: With the full knowledge and apparent approval of the SaskParty Cabinet, we were sued multiple times by an agent of the Saskatchewan government; none of the seven court applications we were respondent to were successful in their stated goal. Two were reopened for “clarification” 18 months after being decided in Federal Court. Those actions failed
dismally in January of 2024. Premier Moe and Minister Harrison played critical roles.
When: 2017 – 2024
Where: Saskatchewan, Queen’s/King’s Bench Battleford
Why: We identified and reported to the appropriate authorities: abuses of Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming licenses; government assisted tax evasion; and violations of federal and provincial environmental laws.
How: Premier Moe’s government used a publicly funded surrogate to launch lawsuits hoping to create the impression that our concerns were merely local arguments. The lawsuits were diversions to distract from greater wrongdoing which they attempted to clean up behind the scenes.
Background Letter to The Premier of Saskatchewan
Good day Premier Moe:
We are proceeding with our stated plans of June 2019 to advise the media regarding wrongdoing that has taken place in Saskatchewan. As you are well aware, our plans have been delayed because we were immediately sued by an agent of your government. If you recall, Mr. Premier, you knew we were being sued before we did even though you claim your agent acts independently of your oversight and that of several mandated Ministries. Your agent sued us several more times, but at the moment, there is nothing before the courts.
It is impossible for us to ignore the events in the news around the Speaker, Mr. Harrison and yourself. We do not know Mr. Weekes, nor have we had any communications from him. What we have in common with him is having been bullied by you and Mr. Harrison. You claim Mr. Weekes’ allegations are unequivocally false; the sour grapes of his unsuccessful bid to represent the SaskParty in Biggar-Sask Valley.
We only know Mr. Weekes through his reputation among friends, neighbors, and colleagues.
We know of your and Mr. Harrison’s behaviors through personal experiences dealing with your office and members of your government including Mr. Harrison in his former role of responsibility for the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority.
In that comparison Mr. Premier, you lose.
To forestall your expected claim that our allegations are also unequivocally false, we have attached an explanatory document.
Of course, if you wish to have a surrogate agent of your government sue us again, we will stand behind our allegations and present all our verifying documents in a court of law. You have made sure we are familiar with that system.
